Engagement Photos at White Rock Lake in Dallas, TX – Kayley and John
Some fellow North Texas natives! It was fun to talk to Kayley and John during our shoot; we joked about small towns in North Texas while basking the sunset hour of Dallas. It was my first time shooting on White Rock Lake, and I believe my first time there in general.

Honestly, now I’m converted! I get why it’s a popular spot to fish, picnic, and hike. The White Rock Lake Boat Club provides excellent views making you feel like you’re in Monaco, while the large body of water takes you awake from the usual Texas horizon. I love it!!!
I think if you’re looking for a unique water spot for engagement photos, I really can’t recommend White Rock Lake here in Dallas enough. There’s nothing in the area like it, and nothing beats these views.
Now, I would recommend going ONLY during sunset hour. There is little/no usable shade, so any sunny day will give you a MUCH different look for the lighting. Cloudy days are the best for non-sunset time, but it’s all up to personal preference!
